Dr. David Almeida, MD MBA PhD, is a board-certified ophthalmologist and vitreoretinal surgeon. He serves as President and CEO of the Centers for Advanced Surgical Exploration (CASEx) and Erie Retina Research, a clinical site focused on cutting-edge ophthalmic research. Dr. Almeida completed medical school at Queen’s University and a vitreoretinal fellowship at the University of Iowa. He also holds a PhD in pharmaceutical research and an MBA in healthcare management. He has authored over 200 peer-reviewed articles and presented at more than 150 national and international conferences. Since 2006, Dr. Almeida has served as principal investigator in over 100 ophthalmology trials. His extensive experience in business operations, clinical site leadership, patient recruitment, and quality care makes him exceptionally suited to speak on innovative clinical trial enrollment strategies.
