Since the beginning of her academic and professional journey, Jamie Russell has been driven by a passion for improving health outcomes within diverse cultural context, ranging from large cultural groups to smaller communities. Her work has focused on HIV, reproductive health, and youth, encompassing both clinical practice and research. Jamie has contributed to a variety of HIV therapeutic and non-therapeutic studies, including HIV PrEP and COVID-19 vaccine trials. In recent years, she has led a team of research nurses and coordinators across more than twenty studies, gaining a broad and nuanced perspective on health and wellness. Most recently, Jamie has expanded her impact through a collaboration with a local nursing school, where she helps educate and mentor new nursing graduates interested in clinical research. She believes that inspiring and guiding the next generation of nurse researchers is vital to advancing scientific discovery and improving public health.
