With over 10 years in clinical research—including 3 years as a study coordinator and 7 years as a Clinical Research Associate (CRA), now Senior CRA—I understand the importance of psychological safety in the workplace. I have worked closely with site personnel at all levels, many new to clinical trials, gaining firsthand insight into the importance of a supportive environment. I’ve seen how psychological safety fosters open communication, leading to better data quality, increased compliance, and overall study success. When team members feel safe to ask questions and raise concerns without fear, collaboration improves and errors decrease. My experience interacting with diverse teams and complex studies equips me to promote strategies that enhance psychological safety, ultimately driving stronger research outcomes and healthier workplace cultures.
