Karen is a communications consultant and senior medical writer with more than 20 years of experience in clinical research across the United States and Europe. She has led and supported patient recruitment communications initiatives for leading CROs—including IQVIA, ICON, Parexel, and Duke Clinical Research Institute— where she played an integral role in developing internal best practice guidance. Karen has also served as a patient engagement advocate in multiple cross-sector collaborations and as a long-standing member of an Institutional Review Board (IRB) in London, UK. Her work with ACRP has included researching and shaping initiatives focused on clinical research workforce development and site support, synthesizing expert perspectives into actionable consensus publications. She is particularly focused on structuring high-impact white papers, manuscripts, and strategic communications deliverables, refining language and tone to ensure resonance with key audiences.
