Joseph Hines II, MPH

Executive Director, Research Operations-Clinical Trial Office

University of Kansas Cancer Center

I serve as the Executive Director of Research Operations at The University of Kansas Cancer Center, where I lead strategic initiatives to expand workforce development, advance health equity, and improve access to clinical trials. With more than a decade in clinical research and regulatory affairs, I have built scalable research operations and championed inclusive programs to address structural barriers in the clinical trial enterprise. I am the founder of C-CLEAR (Careers in Clinical Research), a nationally recognized summer pipeline program that introduces undergraduate students to clinical research careers through immersive learning and mentorship. In June of 2025, I had the opportunity to present this work as a poster at the American Association of Cancer Institutes-Clinical Research Innovation Conference. Currently, I am pursuing a PhD in Global Health Equity at Meharry Medical College, where my research explores how health literacy and policy strategies can improve equitable trial participation for all people.
